Let’s face it owning a boat; any boat is a pretty unique experience. Whether it’s a 5 metre RIB or 20 metre Flybridge cruiser, you are always going to end parting with more money than you would like to admit. Fast boats certainly excel in burning money, either literally or indirectly in a never ending schedule of engine and hull maintenance. All this doom and gloom aside once you are truly bitten it is easy to understand the addiction. Owning a fast boat with good offshore credentials is a fantastic experience as nothing beats the feeling of planing through seas where other boats fear to tread.

Fast Boats is dedicated to the performance boat concept either in the traditional hard skinned power boat form, or the increasingly popular long offshore RIB. Along with features we aim to share our experiences of boating and owning one and where to go to get a fair deal. In particular our ’Performance engineers’ section where we list engineering companies from personal experience whose level of service, expertise and value for money exceeds the often ‘mercenary’ competition.
